Langkampfen-based gardening power tool manufacturer VIKING has been involved in the area of social sponsorship for many years. Important partners for VIKING in this respect include the SOS Children's Village. However, local social institutions are also regularly supported.
The latest initiative in this context was held on Wednesday
30. September 2009 for Aufbauwerk der Jugend. The Bad Häring institution for vocational training was in urgent need of a lawn mower, especially for its "caretaker work" training course. This resulted in a VIKING 5 Series petrol lawn mower changing hands.
Nikolas Stihl, Managing Director, VIKING commented: "We are very pleased to support this good cause. Furthermore, we find it very appealing to be able perform acts of sponsorship with our most typical products, in this case a lawn mower."
Throughout the Tirol, the Aufbauwerk der Jugend supports seven institutions for more than 400 young people with special needs, with the aim of vocational and social integration. The Bad Häring institution offers training to around 30 young people with special needs in the trade, educational, social and practical areas.
VIKING is part of the STIHL Group and produces lawn mowers, lawn tractors, garden shredders and other gardening equipment for the discerning gardener.
