Flooding: STIHL Tirol supports the Kufstein Fire Brigade

Langkampfen, 10.08.2021

The disastrous floods that hit Kufstein and the surrounding area in July caused enormous damage. Numerous areas, including some in the city of Kufstein itself, were massively affected and still are today. Large numbers of helpers were urgently required to tackle the challenges of repelling water and mud. Seldom has the immediate and comprehensive service provided by the Kufstein Volunteer Fire Brigade been more essential. The garden equipment manufacturer STIHL Tirol from Langkampfen is supporting the firefighters with a contribution of 5,000 euros.

Clemens Schaller, the managing director of STIHL Tirol, and Wolfgang Simmer, the head of sales and distribution services, visited the fire brigade in Kufstein on 3 August 2021 and heard a description of the events that so quickly led to the flooding.

"We watched in horror as the damage caused by the storm and floods unfolded. As a result, we were all the more impressed by the tireless work and commitment of the Volunteer Fire Brigade", said Clemens Schaller.

Hans-Peter Wohlschlager, the commander of the Kufstein Volunteer Fire Brigade, was pleased and expressed his thanks: "The contribution made by STIHL Tirol is a great help and sends a message of community and support in the event of disasters that can affect any of us at any time. At the same time, it serves as motivation and recognition for our commitment." The Kufstein Volunteer Fire Brigade, which has existed since 1866, currently has around 90 firefighters.
