With the premium MA 339 and MA 339 C battery-powered lawn mowers, VIKING presents two lightweight, maintenance-friendly and convenient gardening aids from the new 3 Series. Their cutting width of 37 centimetres is perfect for lawns of up to approx. 300 to 500 square metres. Battery packages are available either as a set or as separate accessories. Efficient: STIHL and VIKING use the same battery technology. The batteries are therefore compatible for use with both systems.
 
For small gardens where there is no power socket nearby, a battery-powered mower is the ideal alternative to a petrol one. In gardens with lots of corners, the cordless machines are also the ideal partner. The particular strengths of this lawn mower include simple operation, innovative battery technology and its extremely practical size.
 
The standard and comfort models are distinguished by two details. The MA 339 C features a mono handlebar and double ball-beared wheels as extras. The mono handlebar provides the gardener with extensive freedom of movement when handling the grass catcher box. This handlebar is infinitely adjustable to between 92 and 111 centimetres to suit the user's body height for ergonomic working. Handy quick-release elements ensure easy adjustment. A sturdy die-cast aluminium console on the housing stabilises the mono handlebar and ensures even force application.
 
Tried-and-tested design
All the other equipment features are identical on both battery-powered mowers. The motorstop lever is mounted on the handlebar. It fits perfectly into the loop handle, preventing any pinching of the hands. The large gripping surface permits the position of the hands to be changed at all times during working. This allows the user to work for longer without fatigue. The cutting height can be conveniently adjusted to 5 selectable settings. This operation is facilitated thanks to the spring-loaded mechanism. The housing made from high-grade, robust polymer ensures that the mower continues to look good even after extensive use.
 
Attractive cutting pattern
Responsible for the attractive cutting pattern are the special highlift blades. These create a strong air current when mowing. This air current lifts the grass, which is cut cleanly by the blades, even under difficult conditions, for example in the case of damp grass. The mower's air current carries the grass clippings into the grass catcher box via a large guide, ensuring that the 40-litre volume is utilised to the full. The level indicator shows when the grass catcher box is full. The grass catcher box can be emptied easily thanks to the large carrying handle and a practical hinged cover. The grass clippings can optionally also be ejected. This is a good solution in the case of high grass.
 
Those wishing to mulch their grass clippings can convert the mowing deck quickly and easily using the mulching kit available from the accessory range, which comprises a multi-blade and mulching key. The patented blades cut the grass at different heights in stages and shred it in the housing, providing fine clippings. These clippings are deposited in the turf as a natural fertilizer. This saves time and money.
 
Innovative battery solutions
Enduring power is ensured by a low-noise 600-watt electric motor on both lawn mowers. The brushless motor is virtually maintenance-free. VIKING offers variously powered battery solutions as accessories. The sophisticated technology was developed by parent company STIHL. Owners of hand-held battery-powered STIHL tools, such as a hedge trimmer, could use the same battery in the VIKING lawn mowers. Inversely, the owners of VIKING battery-powered mowers can also use their batteries in STIHL machines. This makes the purchase particularly efficient. A single charge of the AP 160 battery is sufficient for lawns up to 300 square metres and up to 250 square metres with the AP 120 battery. Different battery sets are available for both the MA 339 model as well as the MA 339 C comfort model, depending upon user requirements.
 
Handy and compact
For VIKING, comfort does not end with mowing itself. Cleaning is also convenient and easy: The lawn mower can be moved into the vertical position in a few simple manual actions. Soil and plant residues can thus be easily removed.
 
The foldable handlebar, light weight and compact design make transporting the mower extremely simple. It can be lifted and carried effortlessly by the two large carrying handles on the housing. Its small dimensions allow it to be stored easily, even in confined spaces.
