The VIKING 3 Series battery-powered MA 339 and MA 339 C lawn mowers were recently awarded the renowned "Blue Angel" environmental label, the first environmental protection-related hallmark worldwide. The coveted "Blue Angel" label is awarded by a committee comprising, among other institutions, the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, as well as the German Institute for Quality Assurance and Certification, RAL.
The two lawn mowers, which were introduced onto the market with great success in 2011, convinced the testing commission with regard to the points "Reduction of noise emissions" and "Prevention of pollutants". This was principally achieved thanks to a newly-developed, specially optimised blade, low-pollutant lithium-ion batteries and the absence of components made from PVC or containing plasticisers. For gardening power tool manufacturer VIKING, attaining the well-respected environmental label is confirmation of its investments in innovative and sustainable solutions as well as proof of the company's concerns regarding the environment.
